White Fluff in June

No, it is not snow, rather fluff from my cottonwood trees. At least I know for sure what species of tree I have and I am glad that I am adding some variety.

The vegetables in the garden are slowly growing, the weeds are growing super fast.  There were plenty of dormant seeds in the compost pile. Overall I am satisfied with how things are progressing considering how much work it was to establish a garden plot.  Next year I won't have to start from nothing and eventually I will have my greenhouse for added growing season. I am also going to set up seasonal water taps so I don't have to walk so far with the watering can.  Although there is a water tap in the barn I am not sure it works.  It's possible that I didn't leave the shut off valve in the basement open long enough to allow the water to travel the distance to the barn, but in the event that there is a leak in the pipe I want to wait until we get rain and the water table is higher (hopefully next week) to try that rather than run my well dry.
