Really Cold Days Bring Sunshine

It's early Monday morning and it's -35 C outside with a windchill of -44C. I have just turned on the light in the henhouse for the chickens but decided part way into my morning walk to forego my normal 1km route. My skin was starting to sting. Teaka seemed ok with the cold but was also eager to go back inside by the time we got back home. Once the sun comes up we will go for a longer walk and look like this:

After Christmas I put my tree in the henhouse, just for fun and something new for the chickens to explore and for the last week every day I find an egg underneath it. Ever wondered what happens to eggs when they freeze? A week or so ago I was away for most of the day and when I woke the chickens up the next morning I found two eggs in the nest that looked like this:

It's fine to eat frozen eggs, although these two went to Teaka because I have enough eggs to spare some.

Brie and Remy are growing fast and of course along with that are getting into more mischief because they can now jump higher and explore new things.

When Teaka has enough of there shenanigans she will ask to go to her couch in the bedroom which is kitten free or she will take away the toy they are playing with.

I am working on the next section of my puzzle and am hoping by the end I will be able to locate all the puzzle pieces that Brie and Remy have decided to claim as their momentary play thing.

  1. Puzzles with cats are always fun lol. We lost a kitty this month and then gained a new one that is just adjusting to life in the house - super cute and all black :)
