Clock

This will only mean something to some of my family. The clock chime has not worked for many years. Sound on!

I find the ticking of the clock soothing. It was amazing to be in the clock repair shop, listening to dozens of clocks ticking away.

In other updates.

Very soon I will try my first moose steak. My neighbour's grandson shot his first moose this year (Quebec side which has different hunting season and rules). It was a family affair, father, son and grandson. I am pretty sure I will never be a hunter but I respect the way of life, and it goes without saying, but, of course as long as it's a lawful event. The steak was given to me frozen so I can make it whenever suits me.

Hallowe'en was a fun day as a group of women got together for lunch, dressed in costumes from a play of Les Miserable which was put on in Englehart and we all dressed the same - grim reapers. I stayed the evening in Englehart to help hand out candy to trick-or-treaters. A couple of the ladies in our group had been involved in making costumes for the play.

I finally was able to move the cement slab that I discovered buried in my vegetable garden three years ago.  It was bigger and heavier than I first thought so my Kubota got a workout. I think I will eventually put it in front of the barn to prevent tire track grooves in the ground from driving the car or tractor in and out.
