Bald Eagle

We had a bald eagle visit us at the beginning of April and I snapped these two photos.

  

Also for the last week, as the snow here melts away, a red-tailed hawk has been hunting above the fields.  He seems to love the strong winds and hangs almost stationary in the sky as he searches for rodents in the field below.

 

Here's a video and the sound of my babbling brook behind the house as the water from the fields melts and flows down to the creek.

With the hawk around I have to keep a close eye on the chickens and the kittens when they are outside.  Often Brie goes on a walk with me and Teaka through the back fields. It's pretty cute.  Brie is also interested in stalking the chickens. I'm not sure if she is just curious or if she is honing her hunting skills.

   

I built myself an outdoor worktable. Time to get projects started for the season! Next up is installing my laundry posts.
