Happy Hens

 It was a three egg day today. The girls must be happy. We haven't had three eggs in a day for months.  To give the chickens something to walk on other than the concrete floor, I gathered some of the stalks growing in the fields to lay on the floor of the henhouse. The girls seem to like to hang around on it. It wll be interesting in the spring/summer to see exactly what is growing in the fields and whether it is a crop or a weed, it seems to be in the Aster family as the stalks look and smell like chamomile but they are about 4 feet tall so cannot be chamomile.
